Blake Masters has now joined the chorus in the latest Kari Lake smash hit to top the MAGA billboard: \u201cI lost, so the election was stolen.\u201d
Masters went on a tear<\/a> on Thursday evening, charging thousands of Arizona voters were disenfranchised and calling on every member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to \u201cresign in disgrace\u201d.
\u201cThey all deserve to be recalled by the voters, and investigated by the AG (pray that @AbrahamHamadeh<\/a> makes it in),\u201d he tweeted.
According to Masters-think, the Republican-run Board of Supervisors was either \u201cgrossly negligent\u201d or outright rigged the Nov. 8 election by making sure that Election Day lines were long and tabulation machines didn\u2019t work.
\u201cWe may never know how many thousands of voters were disenfranchised,\u201d he tweeted. \u201cAnd yes this would have made a difference in Abe and Kari\u2019s races.\u201d
He also complains that that not enough Republicans voted by mail. \u00a0Oh, the irony.
The only people Masters doesn\u2019t blame?
Himself and the other MAGA candidates who tied themselves tightly to Donald Trump.
Who urged their voters to cast their ballots on Election Day because they couldn\u2019t trust early voting.
Who told Republicans not to trust so much as a marking pen handed to them by poll workers.
Sure, there were problems on Election Day. There are in every election. But there\u2019s no evidence that thousands of voters \u2212 or even any \u2212 couldn\u2019t vote.
In this case, close to a third of the county\u2019s voting centers experienced printer problems, leaving tabulation machines unable to read ballots. The problems arose in slightly more Republican than Democrat areas.
Republic analysis:<\/strong>Printer issues did not disproportionately affect GOP voters<\/a>
Poll workers offered affected voters the option of either dropping their ballots into a secure box, to be counted later, or going to another polling place. The county even posted voting center wait times online.
It shouldn’t have been a big deal, but Republicans have spent the last two years grooming their supporters not to trust anything that election workers say or do.
Two years telling them to ditch the state\u2019s early ballot system that Republicans used for decades to boost turnout and win elections \u2212 the one that allows people to vote early from the comfort of home. Two years, telling them to instead to line up on Election Day.
So they did.
Now Masters, who conceded to Sen. Mark Kelly earlier this week, is complaining.
\u201cDemocrats have built an effective GOTV by mail machine. (That\u2019s partially why their candidates were so confident in not campaigning hard.),\u201d he tweeted. \u201cWe simply have to beat them at this VBM game, and rely less on ED voting as a party.\u201d
(For those who don\u2019t speak politick, GOTV is get out the vote. VBM is vote by mail and ED is Election Day.)
Maricopa County officials say there\u2019s no evidence that anyone was disenfranchised.
What there is evidence of is that swing voters in Arizona \u2013 and\u00a0all across the country \u2212 simply didn\u2019t swing the way of Masters and the MAGA slate.
Republican Kimberly Yee, who wasn\u2019t part of the Trump team, easily swept into a second term<\/a> in the Treasurer\u2019s Office. She got nearly 194,000 votes more than Masters, who lost by lost his race by about 125,000 votes.
Yee got 120,000 votes more than Kari Lake, who was down by nearly 17,000 on Friday.
Republican Tom Horne, who wasn\u2019t part of the Trump slate, was elected state superintendent<\/a> with more than 1.2 million votes \u2013 or nearly 60,000 more votes than Masters.
In Maricopa County, Republican Rachel Mitchell won her county attorney\u2019s race with nearly 774,000 votes \u2013 or more than 66,000 votes than Masters won in the county.
Mitchell got nearly 24,000 more Maricopa County votes than Lake.
Yet here comes Masters, harmonizing with Lake and the rest of the America First slate as they sing their tale of woe.
They lost; therefore, they were robbed.
\u201cWe must throw out the people responsible,\u201d Masters crooned. \u201cWe must demand better than third-world elections.\u201d
Me? I\u2019m thinking there\u2019s an easier answer for Republican voters.
Demand better candidates.
